Wind Power

The great territorial extension and high incidence of wind allows Brazil to have a big capacity to generate wind energy. Today, wind power is the second most generated source of energy in the country. With the increase of wind farms in the Northeast region and forecast of economic development, Brazil is gaining prominence in this sector, attracting investors around the world.

Today, there are more than 600 wind farms in Brazil, which have the capacity to generate 15GW of energy, equivalent to 9.2% of the installed power in the country. The high incidence of winds in Brazilian Northeast region is one of the main factors for the sector to develop so quickly in the region. The sector's perspective is that the installed capacity will continue to grow.
